UNM Benjamin Sacks Endowment Fund
UNM Benjamin Sacks Endowment Fund -- This fund was established in memory of Dr. Benjamin Sacks, Professor Emeritus of History at UNM from 1929 to 1963. The Benjamin Sacks Endowment Fund grants scholarships to students studying history in Europe or Africa.
Funding preference is given to UNM undergraduate History majors with an academic focus in European, British, or African History. Second preference is given to non-History majors focused on related subjects in European or African studies. Undergraduate or graduate History majors of any specialty will also be considered, in the case that there are no applicants with the preferred academic focus.
To apply for this grant, please complete an application for the UNM Undergraduate Education Abroad Grant and indicate in your essay that you would like to be considered for the Sacks Grant. Upon return from their time abroad, recipients are required to write a letter expressing how the grant contributed to their academic development.
